Game Mode
Game Mode turns your Signal Session into a fun "Focus Game" experience. Participants tap cards when they spot common meeting behaviors or buzzwords, and a winner is announced at the end.
How It Works
- Create a meeting using a Game Panel (like "Focus Game")
- Participants join and see the game cards
- Tap cards when you spot the behavior happening in the meeting - each tap earns 1 point
- The live scoreboard in the corner tracks everyone's score in real time
- When the host clicks End Game, the winner is announced with a full-screen overlay
- After the winner announcement, a statistics heatmap shows detailed activity
Note
Focus Game is separate from any current Signal Session. Team members need to be invited to the game to participate.
Focus Game Panel
Meeting Signals includes a built-in "Focus Game" game panel with these cards:
| Card | Trigger |
|---|---|
| SYNERGY | Someone says "synergy" |
| YOU'RE MUTED | Someone talking on mute |
| TABLE IT | "Let's table that" |
| CIRCLE BACK | "Let's circle back" |
| CAN YOU SEE MY SCREEN | Screen share struggles |
| DEEP DIVE | "Let's do a deep dive" |
| ACTION ITEMS | Someone mentions action items |
| HARD STOP | "I have a hard stop at..." |
Starting a Game
- Click Create Meeting from the app home
- Select the Focus Game panel (or any Game Panel)
- Enter a session name and create the meeting
- Share the session code with participants
The "Game Mode" badge appears in the header to indicate scoring is active.
Scoring
- Each card tap = 1 point
- All participants can tap any card at any time
- The live scoreboard shows running totals in the bottom-right corner
- Scores are tracked automatically from the existing signal card messages
Ending the Game
Only the session host can end the game:
- Click the End Game button in the header
- A full-screen winner announcement appears for all participants
- Tap anywhere to view the session statistics
Session Statistics
After a game ends (or on-demand via the Stats button), you'll see:
- Leaderboard - Ranked list of participants with points (gold, silver, bronze for top 3)
- Activity Heatmap - Grid showing each participant's taps per card
- Card Champions - Who tapped each card type the most
Viewing Stats Later
Session statistics are saved automatically. To view them from your meeting history:
- Go to My Meetings (meeting history)
- Look for the Stats button next to meetings that have recorded activity
- Click to view the full statistics page
Custom Game Panels
Pro Feature
Creating custom Game Panels requires a Pro subscription.
Pro subscribers can create their own game panels:
- Go to Settings > Panels > Create Panel
- Toggle on Game Panel
- Add your custom cards (meeting buzzwords, team inside jokes, etc.)
- Use the panel when creating meetings
Professional Development Use
Tip
Focus Game can also be used for professional development. For example, coaching a team member during their presentation dry run or pitch rehearsal.
Session Stats for All Meetings
The statistics feature isn't limited to games. Any meeting host can click the Stats button in the header to view activity data for the current session. The difference is that only Game Panels announce a winner.
